Today we’ll be reviewing Tormented Souls, a game which draws heavy inspiration from classic games such as RE and Silent Hill.
Review
I’ll being this review with saying that I’m not a massive fan of the original Resident Evil games, or any of its various clones.
With that minor disclaimer in mind, Tormented Souls was one of those games that I did not expect to like; and initially, I very much didn’t, but ended up taking a real liking to by the end.

Before we dive into it, it’s worth mentioning that even if the name of the game doesn’t already ring a bell, the controversy of Soyny demanding certain imagery and/or scenes be censored was a fairly big topic in the gaming sphere a while back. With that in mind, if anyone should want to play the game then going for either the PC or Xbox versions should be preferable.
Martha is Dead is not an action game, it does not contain any QTEs or anything of the like – it’s purely a story told through the interactive medium of a game. If walking simulators aren’t something which interests you, this game will most likely not be of interest either. However, if one can appreciate a game with less bang and more of a good and fairly unique story, then do keep reading.

While Tacoma tries to pretend otherwise, it is for all intents and purposes a walking simulator – albeit a walking simulator where you occasionally press and hold a button and wait for some story to tell itself. Or, if we’re being generous: a 3D point and click adventure.
Review
Walking simulators in general tend to be a mixed bag, and Tacoma is no exception. While it’s core idea does have some interesting aspects, the execution leaves much to be desired.

Who could’ve ever guessed that the totally-nice-people over at Take “It Up The Arse” Two Interactive would end up making a mess of a set of games that’s such an iconic part of recent gaming history, and such strong part of many people’s childhood… Yeah, no, it’s no wonder the lazy parasites went and outsourced the remake to be able to make some quick cash on the side.

There’s few companies that I’ve ever felt such complete and utter disgust towards, as I do with the abomination, the human waste that is Take-Two. Now, while I do understand, on a strictly (US) legal level why they would do, at least some of the things they’ve done, I seriously can not help but feel utter contempt towards T2.
While the “developers” behind re3, reVC, et. al. was frankly stupid to send a DMCA counter notices since they should and did realize that it would bring with it the possibility of them getting sued, it doesn’t make T2’s actions any less revolting. The legal aspect of it all is just that, it doesn’t make their actions morally just. I don’t give a flying fuck about whether they are legally justified, or, hell, even obligated to, I still hope they all over there burn.

If there’s one thing that’s ever constant, it’s Ubi’s absolute hard-on for shoving politics where it doesn’t belong. While fictional politics are hard if not impossible to avoid, equating a game to real life is rarely a good thing.
With the announcement of Ubi’s latest installment in the Far Cry series, they’ve also made a certain press statement that is questionable at best. Their “The Politics of Far Cry 6” news post is rather telling of the company’s current climate. Written by their “Narrative Director,” Navid Khavari leads with:
