Spring is upon us, and so the anime of the season has begun airing. Let’s dive into what’s worth a watch, and what will end up in the trash where it belongs.

The one argument you always hear when there’s talk about translation, is that you can never get the same experience reading a translation as the original, and that expecting to get the whole experience is meaningless. Another is that translation is the same as “localization,” and that cut content and altered content will always be necessary for a translation to be done correctly.

While it’s certainly true that you often can’t translate a language word-for-word, it’s often those that has a certain inclination for censorship that tries to argue that translation can’t be done without altering the original work’s message, and thereby without compromising the original’s integrity.

For whatever mind-boggling reason they’ve invented this time, snowflakes have decreed that you can not appropriate certain cultures, while insisting on appropriating others themselves.

Recoloring a Japanese character black, and then calling it your own is apparently fine, but for a Japanese artist to make art of a Native American is not. The hypocrisy of these types of people is so strong it’s palpable.

It’s a sad yet comical sight to witness the total abject failure of the politically correct media. Their declining sales versus the ever prosperous manga industry of Japan is a testament to their failure – making “inclusive and diverse” to appeal to the rainbow-colored age-fluid dolphins has failed, hard.

When a single manga series outsells the entire US comic industry, then you must’ve truly fucked something up.
